Battery Boost in Wallkill, NY

Getting it done

CarmaCars arranges mechanical work through shops around Toronto and does not do the work itself; Wallkill is about 479 km away. What it involves: A boost for a dead battery, by a roadside service we arrange, not by CarmaCars. A slow crank on a cold morning is often the first sign of a tired battery.

What we arrange

If the car cannot be driven, say so, and we arrange the next step with the shop. The shop sets its own price and time, and you agree to them before any work. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us.

What to ask

Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare. Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.

Between shop visits

Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell.
