Your refund depends on when we receive your cancellation. This is a summary of section 7 of the Rental Agreement, which governs.
Refund by timing

The first row that fits applies. The "start" is the pickup time on your booking.
The details
- How to cancel. Cancel in your renter portal or email bookings@carmacars.ca. Notice counts from when we receive it.
- What the percentage applies to. The total you paid at booking.
- Deposit. Taken about 1 hour before pickup. Any Deposit already taken is returned in full when a booking is cancelled.
- How refunds are paid. To the card you paid with, within 10 business days after cancellation. Your bank may take longer to show it. A Deposit taken as a card hold is released, not refunded.
- Early return. Returning the vehicle early earns no refund.
- Identity check. If we cannot verify a driver, we refund what you paid. False documents, or no confirmed Coverage Option at pickup, count as cancelling at that time.
- Breakdowns. Section 11 of the Rental Agreement covers replacement vehicles and refunds for unused time.

A booking with a $600.00 rental charge and $78.00 HST, $678.00 paid.
