Car Diagnostics in Emo

Arranging the work in Emo

CarmaCars arranges mechanical work through shops around Toronto and does not do the work itself; Emo is about 1,243 km away. The job: A diagnostic scan when a warning light is on or something feels wrong, by a trusted shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. A steady check engine light needs a check soon; a flashing one means pull over safely and get help.

Who does what

We arrange the shop and the rental, and you keep control of the repair. We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in. Send a request with the car and what it needs. A person replies and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. The shop sets its own price and time, and you agree to them before any work.

Car care, briefly

Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them.

Talking to the shop

Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.
