Car Diagnostics: how we help
CarmaCars arranges a diagnostic check with trusted shops in the Toronto area, and does not do the work itself. What this is: A diagnostic scan when a warning light is on or something feels wrong, by a trusted shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.
The steps
If the car cannot be driven, say so, and we arrange the next step with the shop. We arrange the shop and the rental, and you keep control of the repair. We pass your details to a trusted shop or give you its name, as you prefer. Send a request with the car and what it needs. A person replies and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one.
A rental while you wait
Ask for a rental in the same request as the repair. Rent the size of car you need for the days the repair takes. Picking the car up yourself at our location costs nothing.
What to ask
Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts.
Car care, briefly
Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter.
