Getting it done
Car Diagnostics in Wright County: CarmaCars does not do this work itself and works only in the Toronto area. A diagnostic scan when a warning light is on or something feels wrong, by a trusted shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.
The steps
We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. The shop quotes the work itself; we do not add to its price. We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in. Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
Keep moving with a rental while your car is at the shop, by the day at our usual rates. Rent the size of car you need for the days the repair takes. If you come to us, the pickup is free.
Talking to the shop
Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there.
Good habits for your car
Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance.
When you know your dates
Start with the car, the job and your location.
