Emissions Test in Alpha

If you need an emissions test in Alpha: CarmaCars does not do this work itself, and our network is around Toronto. The job: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.

Our part and the shop's part

We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date; the shop does, after it sees the car. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in.

Car care, briefly

Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.

Getting a clear quote

Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask whether the shop needs your keys, the wheel lock key or the spare. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected.
