Emissions Test in Alta, CA

Emissions Test in Alta

We do not do mechanical work, and we work in the Toronto area, far from Alta. In short: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.

How the request works

We pass your details to a trusted shop or give you its name, as you prefer. We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date; the shop does, after it sees the car. You deal with the shop for the repair itself, and with us for the rental.

Questions to ask the shop

If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour.

Car care, briefly

Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold.

About distance

To be clear: CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area, not in Alta. We do not deliver as far as Alta, about 3,461 km from our location in Toronto.

If the car can come to the Toronto area, we can arrange a trusted shop there. If we do not know a shop in Alta, we say so rather than guess. Send a request with what you need in Alta, and we reply plainly, even when the answer is no. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
