Who does what

We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. If the car cannot be driven, say so, and we arrange the next step with the shop. Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare.

Good habits for your car

Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Look at the tire tread before long trips.

A short checklist

Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history.
