Getting it done
We arrange an emissions test through shops in the Toronto area. We have no location in Cedar County. What this is: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.
Who does what
You deal with the shop for the repair itself, and with us for the rental. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date; the shop does, after it sees the car. You approve the shop's quote before any work begins. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us.
Keep moving meanwhile
Ask for a rental in the same request as the repair. A rental bridges the days your car is at the shop. Self pickup at our Toronto location has no fee.
Small things that help
Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold. Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter.
Questions to ask the shop
Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there.
Still deciding?
Ask us, and we tell you whether we can arrange it.
