What CarmaCars does here

We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. Send a request with the car and what it needs. A person replies and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare.

Between shop visits

Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule.

Talking to the shop

Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. Ask if the shop needs the car for a full day or only a few hours. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon.
