Who does what

Give us the make, model and year, and a phone number for the shop to reach you. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. Let us know where the car is and whether it is safe to drive. A person reads every request and replies with the next step.

Car care, briefly

Check that all lights work every few weeks. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule. Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow.

Talking to the shop

Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for.
