From request to repair

We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in. Give us the make, model and year, and a phone number for the shop to reach you. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job.

Questions to ask the shop

If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used.

Car care, briefly
