Emissions Test in Hammac, AL

Arranging the work in Hammac

CarmaCars arranges mechanical work through shops around Toronto and does not do the work itself; Hammac is about 1,569 km away. What it involves: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.

The steps

Give us the make, model and year, and a phone number for the shop to reach you. If the car cannot be driven, say so, and we arrange the next step with the shop. We arrange the shop and the rental, and you keep control of the repair. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us.

Questions to ask the shop

Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected.

Good habits for your car

Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow. Have the cabin air filter changed on the maker's schedule. Check that all lights work every few weeks.

A note on distance
