Emissions Test: how we help
CarmaCars arranges an emissions test with trusted shops in the Toronto area, and does not do the work itself. An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.
Who does what
We arrange the shop and the rental, and you keep control of the repair. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date; the shop does, after it sees the car. You approve the shop's quote before any work begins. Give us the make, model and year, and a phone number for the shop to reach you.
No car? Rent one meanwhile
We deliver the rental to you and collect it when your car is ready. The rental is priced like any other: by the day, the week or the month. Free pickup at our location is always an option.
Good habits for your car
Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Look at the tire tread before long trips.
Getting a clear quote
Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected.
Ready to ask?
Tell us what is wrong with the car, and we arrange the rest with a trusted shop.
