How the arrangement works

Car care, briefly

Look at the tire tread before long trips. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Do not ignore a warning light; an early check often costs less than a late repair.

Getting a clear quote

Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history.
