Emissions Test in Pathfork, KY

Getting it done

CarmaCars arranges mechanical work through shops around Toronto and does not do the work itself; Pathfork is about 856 km away. What this is: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.

Who does what

A person reads every request and replies with the next step. Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare. Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. Let us know where the car is and whether it is safe to drive.

Between shop visits

Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can. Check the tire pressure once a month, when the tires are cold.

Getting a clear quote

Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.
