An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. From request to repair

Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. Give us the make, model and year, and a phone number for the shop to reach you. Tell us when suits you and whether the car can be driven. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us.

Car care, briefly

Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for.

What to ask

Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it.
