CarmaCars works in the Toronto area, about 734 km from Roane, and does not do this work itself. The job: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.

What CarmaCars does here

You deal with the shop for the repair itself, and with us for the rental. We pass your details to a trusted shop or give you its name, as you prefer. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare.

Small things that help

Look at the tire tread before long trips. Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.

Before the shop starts

Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate.
