What CarmaCars does here

We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. The shop sets its own price and time, and you agree to them before any work. A person replies within one business day. Your request reaches a person, not a machine.

A short checklist

Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask the shop to call you before doing anything not on the estimate. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask whether the quote includes both parts and labour.

Small things that help

Keep the spare, the jack and the wheel lock key where you can find them. Check that all lights work every few weeks. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance.
