Our part and the shop's part

Tell us what you notice: the noise, the light on the dash, or the job you want done. If the car cannot be driven, say so, and we arrange the next step with the shop. A person reads every request and replies with the next step. Let us know where the car is and whether it is safe to drive.

Getting a clear quote

If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back.

Car care, briefly

Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter.
