If the car is blocking traffic, stay safe first and call for help.

The steps

We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in. A person replies within one business day. Give us the make, model and year, and a phone number for the shop to reach you. A person reads every request and replies with the next step.

Car care, briefly

Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive.

Questions to ask the shop

If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask whether the estimate includes tax and shop supplies. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history.
