From request to repair

We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. We do not set the shop's price or promise a date; the shop does, after it sees the car. You approve the shop's quote before any work begins. A person replies within one business day.

What to ask

If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree. Ask whether the parts are new, rebuilt or used. Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up.

Between shop visits

Top up the washer fluid with a winter mix in the cold months. Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old. Check that all lights work every few weeks.
