Buying a car in Alberta

If you are looking for financing for a car, the honest answer first: CarmaCars does not offer it, but a rental can help along the way. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Why rent first

Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads.

Before you sign

Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Between cars

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure.

Where we are

CarmaCars is based in Toronto and has no location in Alberta. With Alberta about 1,333 km from Toronto, it is outside the 80 km we cover.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Shopping in Alberta? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. A request about Alberta gets an honest answer from a person. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, with tax added in the offer.
