Buying a car in Alchie

CarmaCars does not sell cars or arrange loans; we rent cars, which helps when you are deciding. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Try it for a week first

A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.

Before you sign

Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes.

Bridging the gap

Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Ask us about Alchie in a request; a person answers honestly. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, with tax added in the offer.
