Shopping for a car in Behan

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

A test drive that lasts

Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer.

What to check before you buy

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price.

A car meanwhile

Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it.
