Buying a car in Bert

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Drive it like you own it

A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

A buyer's checklist

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN.

A car meanwhile

Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it.

What we cover

CarmaCars is not in Bert. Our one location is in Toronto. We deliver within about 80 km of Toronto. Bert, about 485 km away, is beyond that.

If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you still want to ask about Bert, send a request; we would rather say no than overpromise. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
