CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell, lend or lease, but renting first is a smart step before buying. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. Checks worth doing
A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car.
While you shop
If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal.
