Buying a car in Carleton

If you are looking for financing for a car, the honest answer first: CarmaCars does not offer it, but a rental can help along the way. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Why rent first

Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class.

Before you sign

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches.

Before your next car arrives

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. A monthly rental keeps life moving while your financing is sorted out elsewhere.
