Buying a car in Carmack

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Why rent first

You can rent for a week, or up to 365 days, and nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is.

What to check before you buy

Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN.

Before your next car arrives

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week.

Our area

To be clear: CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area, not in Carmack. By straight line Carmack is about 1,476 km from our location in Toronto; by road it is farther, and beyond our 250 km delivery area.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. For buying in Carmack, local dealers and private sellers are where to look. If you want to check something for Carmack, send a request; a person replies honestly. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
