Buying a car in Comertown

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Rent it before you buy it

Rent for a weekend to answer the big question: is this the right car? A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.

Checks worth doing

Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand.

A car meanwhile

Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars.
