Shopping for a car in Debs

CarmaCars is not where you buy a car, but it can be where you try one first. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Why rent first

A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

Before you sign

Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town.

Bridging the gap

You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one.

Honest about distance

CarmaCars operates from a single location in Toronto, so Debs is outside our area. Debs is about 1,305 km from our location, and our delivery area is about 250 km.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Unsure? Send a request about Debs, and we answer plainly. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
