Buying a car in Dotson

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Drive it like you own it

Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads.

What to check before you buy

Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches.

A car meanwhile

If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels.

A Toronto company

Our only location is in Toronto; Dotson is outside the area we serve. Our delivery area ends about 80 km from Toronto, and Dotson is about 1,812 km out.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. For buying in Dotson, local dealers and private sellers are where to look. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Dotson if you like. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
