Shopping for a car in Dropmore

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Rent it before you buy it

Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most.

A buyer's checklist

Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes.

Bridging the gap

Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives.

Our area

To be clear: CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area, not in Dropmore. We do not deliver as far as Dropmore, about 1,845 km from our location in Toronto.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Shopping in Dropmore? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Dropmore if you like. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax.

One more step

Ask about renting first, and buy with a clear head.
