Buying a car in Durham

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Drive it like you own it

Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. You can rent for a week, or up to 365 days, and nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve.

Questions to ask

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Bridging the gap

There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. Need a car for a road trip before you buy? Rent one for the trip.

Where we work

You will not find a CarmaCars location in Durham; we work from Toronto. By straight line Durham is about 595 km from our location in Toronto; by road it is farther, and beyond our 250 km delivery area.

If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. If you are unsure whether we can help with Durham, ask; we answer plainly. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.
