Buying a car in El Progreso

Here is the honest answer for buyers: CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell them. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Drive it like you own it

Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

A buyer's checklist

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit.

Before your next car arrives

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives.
