Shopping for a car in Elgin
We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.
A test drive that lasts
If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.
Before you sign
Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town.
A car meanwhile
If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars.
