Buying a car in Foster

CarmaCars is not where you buy a car, but it can be where you try one first. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

A test drive that lasts

If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing.

What to check before you buy

For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit.

A car meanwhile

Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive.

Our reach
