Auto Loans: what CarmaCars does

CarmaCars is a rental company, so we do not sell cars; renting one first is how we help buyers. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Drive it like you own it

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing.

A buyer's checklist

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car.

Before your next car arrives

Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed.
