Buying a car in Hakai

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Try it for a week first

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other.

Before you sign

Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts.

Between cars

A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one.
