Buying a car in Harmony

If you are looking for financing for a car, the honest answer first: CarmaCars does not offer it, but a rental can help along the way. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Why rent first

A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing.

Before you sign

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used.

Between cars

If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one.
