Buying a car in Johnson

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Rent it before you buy it

Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it.

A buyer's checklist

A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Ask whether the car has been in an accident and how it was repaired. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package.

Between cars

A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. A monthly rental keeps life moving while your financing is sorted out elsewhere.
