Buying a car in Johnson

If you are looking for financing for a car, the honest answer first: CarmaCars does not offer it, but a rental can help along the way. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Try it for a week first

Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it.

What to check before you buy

Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

Bridging the gap

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.

Reach and distance

CarmaCars has no branch in Johnson. We rent from one location in Toronto. With Johnson about 2,623 km from Toronto, it is outside the 80 km we cover.

Shopping in Johnson? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. For anything about Johnson, a request reaches a person who answers honestly. Prices are in Canadian dollars, and the offer shows the tax.
