Shopping for a car in Kenneth

To be upfront: CarmaCars is a rental company and does not sell cars or arrange loans. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Rent it before you buy it

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is.

Before you sign

Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car.

Bridging the gap

Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale.
