Shopping for a car in Laporte

If financing for a car is what you need, know first that CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell them; here is what we can do. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

A test drive that lasts

If you are torn between two models, rent one, then the other. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer.

What to check before you buy

Ask how many owners the car has had and how it was used. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive.

Bridging the gap

Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one.
