Buying a car in Longview

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Why rent first

Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags. Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

Checks worth doing

For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts.

A car meanwhile

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned.

Honest about Longview

CarmaCars has a single location, in Toronto. Longview is outside the area we serve. About 1,359 km separate central Toronto and Longview, far past our 80 km delivery area.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Send a request with what you need in Longview, and we reply plainly, even when the answer is no. Our prices are in Canadian dollars, before tax.
