Shopping for a car in Lyttleton

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Try it for a week first

Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. You can rent for a week, or up to 365 days, and nothing is charged until we confirm and you approve. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags.

Checks worth doing

Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

While you shop

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned.

Before you plan

CarmaCars works from Toronto. There is no CarmaCars branch in Lyttleton. With Lyttleton about 1,114 km from Toronto, it is outside the 80 km we cover.

Shopping in Lyttleton? A rental from Toronto only makes sense if your trip starts here. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Questions about Lyttleton? Send a request and a person answers honestly. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
