Shopping for a car in McDowell

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Why rent first

Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags.

A buyer's checklist

Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car.

Between cars

Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date.

What we cover

CarmaCars works from Toronto. There is no CarmaCars branch in McDowell. By straight line McDowell is about 1,459 km from our location in Toronto; by road it is farther, and beyond our 250 km delivery area.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Send a request with what you need in McDowell, and we reply plainly, even when the answer is no. Rates are shown in Canadian dollars.
