Shopping for a car in Norfolk Downs

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Why rent first

A rental lets you judge fuel use for yourself, on your own routes. Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign.

Buying smart in Ontario

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car.

Between cars

If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Waiting for a car on order? A monthly rental covers the wait, up to 365 days a booking.
