CarmaCars is a rental company, so we do not sell cars; renting one first is how we help buyers. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.
Rent it before you buy it
Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer.
Questions to ask
Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand.
Between cars
If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed. A rental can carry you through the paperwork of a private sale.
