Shopping for a car in Pine Lakes

There is nothing for sale here as a rule: CarmaCars rents cars. Here is how that helps when you shop. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Why rent first

Try the car on a highway drive, a grocery run and a tight parking spot before you sign. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. A week of your own driving tells you more than twenty minutes with a salesperson: the commute, the parking, the fuel.

Questions to ask

Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand. Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

While you shop

Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one. Sold your car already? Rent by the week while you shop for the next one. Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it.
